Working with elected officials can provide you with opportunities to spread the word about National Family Week and demonstrate how Connections Count enters into discussions about family-focused policies and programs and engages policymakers in advocacy work on behalf of vulnerable children and families.

Even if you are not planning a specific event for National Family Week, encouraging elected officials to provide NFW proclamations and to advocate for vulnerable families can greatly enhance your efforts to raise awareness and promote change at a local level. It also gives your agency a chance to create or enhance relationships with these leaders.
